Universidad Autónoma Coahuila continues working to offer high quality education in the upper educational levels, where we generate, disseminate and preserve knowledge of science, technology and humanities as highlighted in America Economia Magazine in the Ranking of the Best Universities in Mexico 2020.
“América Economía” is the leading business publication in Latin America, which has become the most consulted source of multimedia business information regarded by the most influential executives of the largest companies in the continent. Its general ranking and regional sub-rankings position the 50 best universities in the Mexican university system registered in the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (COPAES).
This list evaluates the country’s Higher Education Institutions with a score from 0 to 100 in fields like teaching quality, research, prestige, postgraduate offer, internationalization of students, accreditation, inclusion and diversity, as well as each educational center´s quality index in 2020, based on the statistics of Scopus, CONACYT, among other ranking organizations.
Cristóbal Noé Aguilar González, our Research and Postgraduate Studies Vice President, said that UAdeC holding the 33rd position in this ranking is the direct result of our actions to strength the transfer and application of knowledge, as well as educational quality, gender equity and research, as these are intangible pillars that we must seize, maintain, and consolidate.
“This evaluation is an example of UAdeC’s commitment to the globalization scene, where significant efforts have been made in areas such as research, accreditation and internationalization. These topics are more relevant on the recent administration’s work agenda, despite the change in national public policies, aimed at supporting Higher Education and the Austerity and Savings Plan that was implemented in our University,” he said.
Aguilar González pointed out that, thanks to the joint effort of the entire university community in the last three years UAdeC reached 33rd place in the 2020 ranking, with indicators such as: teacher quality at 51.4. Therefore, as a university community, we must have a vision of improvement and a sense of institutional belonging to overcome the challenges of today’s world,” he concluded.

Those include the reform of the University Statute, which allowed the incorporation of young talent in the departments of Research of the Schools, Centers and Faculties as well as the growth of the Academic Units and the diffusion of technological and scientific innovation.
